Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is opening on June 24 and is definitely the movie that everyone has been talking about. Among big-budget films, My Sister’s Keeper, based on the best-selling novel, is the only other new release this week.
My Sister’s Keeper
Directed by Nick Cassavetes and based on Jodi Picoult’s 2004 novel of the same name. Anna Fitzgerald (Abigail Breslin) is a young girl conceived for the purpose of supplying organs, blood, and bone marrow for her older sister, Kate (Sofia Vassilieva), who has leukemia. When Kate goes into renal failure, their parents (played by Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric) try to make Anna donate one of her kidneys. In response, Anna sues them for the right to make her own decisions about her body. Rated PG-13.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Michael Bay’s sequel to the 2007 live-action film. Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky, the human who has gotten caught up in the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. After he goes to college to try and live a normal life, he is brought back into the struggle after the conflict follows him. Sam and his girlfriend, Mikaela (Megan Fox) play their part to help the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, as they try to get the upper hand and save the Earth. Rated PG-13, 120 mins.
