Michael Jackson – Dead - Age 50
Shock and extreme sadness still looms heavily on the hearts of countless millions as the news of Michael Jackson’s death reaches every corner of the world.
Jackson was found in his Bel-Air home in a coma on Thursday (6/25/09). Paramedics who responded to the 911 call discovered that Jackson was not breathing and performed CPR before rushing Jackson to UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead after attempts to revive him failed.
The cause of his death is still unknown, but early speculation suggests that his death was caused by cardiac arrest brought on by exhaustion and an overuse of prescription pain killers.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday and medical professions are refraining from making any comments until the results of the autopsy and toxicology reports are known.
What there can be no doubt of is the impact Jackson had on people all over the world. There may be no other person that is so loved and so admired by so many diverse and different people. It is indeed a loss for the whole world.
People are already starting to gather to honor Jackson at key locations across the United States. Large crowds have been reported not only outside the UCLA Medical Center, and Jackson’s Bel-Air home, but also outside Never Land, Jackson’s previous residence and at places such as Hitsville in Detroit where Jackson’s musical career began.
There are no words that can adequately express the sadness felt by so many due to this sudden and tragic loss. Although the later part of Jackson’s career was mired by scandal and abuse allegations, there is no doubt that Jackson’s legacy will be the positive influence he had on people throughout the world. Jackson is perhaps, the biggest celebrity the world has ever known.
