Bachelorette Party: Taste-full Fun By Melissa J Wantuck |
| |
A bride and her friends looking to get together and celebrate the bride’s last days of single-hood before becoming a married woman look to find a fun way to do that.
Going out to a series of bars and clubs is most often the activity associated with a bachelorette party but for girls who aren’t into that scene, or want something different, consider this fun way to get the girls together for a private party: try a wine tasting tour.
A wine tasting tour consists of visiting wineries in your area and sampling the wines they produce. These wineries may offer a set tour that you can follow or you could create your own tour. Here are some ideas for a tour that you and your friends will enjoy.
The first part of a wine tour is transportation. Rent a vehicle and driver like a limousine or tour bus so no one in your party has to worry about driving and everyone can enjoy the time together. Have everyone gather at one person’s house. Leave and return from there to make it easier for the driver.
Look for a tour package of area wineries or contact individual wineries in your area and ask them about offering a wine tasting package for a party of women. Some wineries may offer a private room and a spread of wine and food for you and your friends to enjoy. A group of wineries may offer a wine tasting package where each winery in the group offers wine and food to sample as you stop at each one.
Determine what type of wine tasting experience you’d like to have. If you’re not knowledgeable about wine, ask for a wine tasting that will teach the techniques involved in wine tasting, learn about the different types of wine, and ask for food pairings with the different types. Wine connoisseurs would look for a wine tasting from each winery that showcases their finest wines or the style preferred by the guests such as all white wine or all red wine.
Consider a wine tour that concentrates on a specific food theme. The most basic food categories associated with themes would be appetizers, the main meal, or dessert. You could break each of the three basic themes down into more detailed ones such as wine and chocolate, wine and pasta, wine and chicken, etc.
An alternative to going to a winery is having your own wine tasting at home. Buy several bottles of wine from area wineries and make your own food. Get the girls together, plan some games or maybe watch a movie together and enjoy wine tasting in the comfort of your own home.
Some other tasting themes are tastes from around the world, tastes from around Europe, tastes from the various wine-producing regions of France, etc.
Planning a wine tasting tour is a fun way to bring the bride and her best girlfriends together for an enjoyable and memorable party spent exclusively together.
