We need to get serious about Global Warming, before we bankrupt ourselves with the fight. By: Jimmy James |
| |
To my dismay, John McCain is out pushing the hoax of Global Warming. Why? Perhaps it’s just to get votes, but John McCain isn’t the only Republican to jump on the Global Warming express. Currently the Congress is debating the Lieberman-Warner bill that would impose a $1.2 Trillion tax on the American people, for what?
No one, nobody, no how has provided any conclusive evidence that Global Warming is anything but a theory. Yet our representatives are pushing each other aside to get on board the clean green tofu machine.
Now, do we have a problem when it comes to the use of oil? Sure we do. But not because the burning of fossil fuels are artificially warming the earth, but because the oil industry is a monopoly controlled by organized criminals.
Is the climate changing? It could be, but how would that be any different than at any other point in history. And here’s an example: I am originally from the Buffalo, NY area, a place known to get a lot of snow in the winter. I happen to be reading “The Pioneer History of the Holland Land Purchase” by O. Turner, published in 1849. Turner makes the comment in passing, that at the time of writing the book, the Niagara Frontier was having a very bad winter. He stated, “The Area received more than three feet of snow, which is very unusual for this part of the country.”
Anyone who has ever been to Buffalo during winter knows that three feet of snow isn’t unusual but very normal. Yet it was so unusual to him that he felt he had to document that fact. Turner had only known mild winters, for that part of the country. Well the winters there are becoming mild again. Does that mean that the country somehow escaped a global warming disaster in the 1840s, or is it more likely that weather patterns and the climate has changed over time?
Everyone complains (justifiably) about the lack of evidence which led us to war in Iraq, but those same people can’t wait to declare war on an enemy that we have no proof even exists. Listen, if you care about the environment and about the purity of the air and water etc… good for you, there’s nothing wrong with that. But before we declare war and commit untold amounts of money and resources at the problem, we want to see the proof. Not just correlated information and charts that happen to fit together, but cause and effect, direct proof.
I don’t care if you’re a Republican or a Democrat, moving forward we should all pledge; no more wars based on faulty intelligence, and not one dime for the Global Warming war profiteers spreading the propaganda.
Write or call your Congressman and Senator and tell them to vote no, on the Lieberman-Warner Global Warming bill.
