Juicing: The Answer You Have Been Looking For! By: Jonathan Bille |
| |
Staring down at my dinner plate I can hear my mother’s voice, “eat all your vegetables.” Yet twenty years latter I still don’t want to eat those green things lingering on the plate, and I’m not alone, several studies show that most of us are refusing to eat the necessary amount of fruits and vegetables needed to stay healthy and feeling good.
So what’s the answer? Well you can try holding your nose and force feeding yourself, or you could try juicing.
For those of us who just don’t want to eat the green stuff from the garden, juicing may be the best way to ensure we’re getting the vitamins and minerals we need. Juicing fruits and vegetables is easy and contains all the necessary goodness (except for the fiber) that eating the plants directly would. And because the juice is made from raw products, the vitamin and mineral count is high and intact.
What do you juice? Any fruit or vegetable can be juiced. Some will obviously juice better than others but ultimately, anything that can fit down the neck of your juicer can be turned into a delicious and nutritious juice that can be sipped through dinner or taken on the road.
What you will juice is up to you and your individual tastes, but as long as your putting green products in there, you really can’t go wrong.
Whereas greens can be thought of as the base of your juice, the flavor comes most often from the fruit. Apple is perhaps one of the favorites that get put into juices but other fruits such as strawberries, watermelon and pineapple can turn any veggie green drink into a wonderful and nutritious addition to your daily meals.
The best part is that you really can’t go wrong juicing, as long as you’re using clean, fresh fruits and vegetables you’re sure to end up with a great juice. Just be sure to have fun an experiment. The larger variety of products you try the greater the choices you’ll have when it come time to juice. My personal favorite, yams, they make a juice so good you’ll forget that it’s good for you.
Have fun with it and be daring. Remember you’re alternative is having to eat those green things on your dinner plate.
