Baltimore's Inner Harbor for the 4th of JulyWhen you’re looking for something to do, sometimes the best activities are right in your own neighborhood! Baltimore’s Inner Harbor serves as a great place for tourism, entertainment, shopping and more!

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, located right on Chesapeake Bay, is one of the oldest seaports in America. Around since the 1700’s, the harbor has become a popular attraction, providing visitors plenty of things to do within walking distance!

There are plenty of major attractions right in the Harbor. The Baltimore Aquarium stands out proudly, offering an entire day of fun for its visitors. If animals aren’t your thing, then perhaps you’d have fun stopping by the Maryland Science Center. Dazzle your senses and while you’re at it; learn a few new things at the museum.

The harbor is also home to Fort McHenry, an attraction designed to give history about our nation. You might be in the mood for some sports. Check out the Ravens or the Orioles while you’re in the harbor. Depending on the time of year you stop down, you’ll always be able to catch a sports game!

How about getting right on the water? The harbor offers boat rides, perfect for any individual. Cruise around Chesapeake Bay in a paddle boat, taking in the beautiful sites around you. Or, let someone else do the work while you take a boat tour to view Baltimore’s historic waterways.

July 4 is a wonderful celebration, right in the Harbor. The day will start at noon and will run until the fireworks conclude around 10 PM. The harbor will also be alive with live music at the Harborplace Amphitheatre stage from noon to 4 p.m. The Pop band Uptown East kicks off the evening entertainment at 4 p.m. The fireworks display, Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, begins at 9:30 p.m. and is simulcast to MIX 106.5 FM.

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is a great place to visit when you’re looking to unwind with too many choices to choose from. Consider spending a whole day or two to check everything out. Hotels are conveniently located close by the harbor, so you can get out and enjoy as much as possible!
