Finally, Godsmack is back. They weren’t gone for long, and no, they aren’t planning on releasing a new record or anything like that, but at least they are out hitting the road in July.

I guess vocalist Sully Erna decided it was time to get the boys back together or something. He wanted to take a break from Godsmack and did so back in April when he decided he was going to take a hiatus and head out on his own. He took his version of the old VH1 show Storytellers out on the road, and played sold out show after sold out show.
Sully even rolled out two brand new solo tracks – one acoustic, and one on the piano.

The time has come for Godsmack to get back together.

They will be hitting the road for select dates throughout July, mostly for festivals and radio shows, including the Chippewa Valley Music Festival in Cadott, WI (w/ Boston, Poison, Three Days Grace), WEDG 103.3 Edgefest at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien, NY (w/ Sevendust, Tantric, Evans Blue) and a show at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY (w/ Alterbridge).

The best part about the shows is that since they aren’t going to be touring in support of a new record, they will be playing most everything you, as a fan would want to hear. Think of these upcoming shows, as sort of their greatest hits, Good Times Bad Times: Ten Years of Godsmack, played live.

Granted they are only rolling out with a handful of dates for this month, it is great to see the guys back together and out on the road. Hopefully they will announce more dates soon, but by the looks of it, they might just pull a Metallica and stick with the few dates and just concentrate on the studio.

But look at it this way; maybe we could get a new song at one of these shows.
