What you didn’t know the Iraq war had ended? Well it has and Big Oil has won. Think they didn’t?
If you didn’t hear the news, which wouldn’t be surprising considering we don’t actually get news in this country, the Iraq War has official come to an end. Yes the Iraqi Parliament has signed the oil sharing agreement and the oil fields of Iraq are open for bid, well kind of, they’re open for no-bid contracts to ExxonMobil, Shell, and others who were kicked out of Iraq when Saddam Hussein nationalized the Iraqi Oil Industry thirty years ago.
Ah yes, the sweet victory. The cost, tolerable right? I mean, it only cost 4,000 dead American soldiers, 50,000 seriously wounded American soldiers, around 1,000,000 dead Iraqi civilians, a trillion dollar debt passed to the American public, oh and the satisfaction that comes with knowing we can kick anyone around that we want, and do what ever we want under the guise of preemption.
Yep, all that oil is ours now. The only thing left for us to do is set up some permanent bases as to ensure the oil can be safely extracted and transported oh and to bring home the troops not needed to guard the oil fields, the roads, warehouses, manufacturing facilities and industrial centers.
Anyone who said George Bush didn’t know what he was doing; well what do they have to say now? It seems that everything has gone exactly as planned. Our economy is shot, the country of Iraq is a disaster area, and oil is trading at $140 a barrel. What could be better?
And we made it all possible. Together we pound our chest and chant, U.S.A. – U.S.A. Sure go ahead and wiretap American citizen, why not borrow some more money from China, hell yeah let’s ditch the 4th Amendment of the Constitution, because no one treads on us!
As President Bush so eloquently put it, don’t mess with us, or we will kill you! Have you ever been so proud to be American?
