From G’s to Gents Episode One

Last night premiered a new show From G’s to Gents on MTV. My first impressions from the teasers didn’t have me hooked or even interested in the show. I gave it a try and watched the reality show as fourteen G’s arrive to The Gentlemen’s Club to be made into gentlemen by Fonzworth Bentley. Low and behold it grabbed my attention and had me looking for more.

The fourteen G’s are greeted by Fredrick, the butler of the club and then welcomed by Bentley. Who reminds the G’s that they are here to become Gents and must survive the task ahead of them to be the last one standing to walk away with $100,000.

The Fourteen G’s are Creepa, Cee, E6, The Truth, Kesan, T-Jones, Shotta, Mikey P, D-Boy, Zenel, Shaun, J Boogie, Pretty Ricky and Stan. Each claim they want to change for the better and be the gents that they can be. But soon enough, the alcohol start to flow and the G in them comes out. Pretty Ricky was drinking a little too much which ultimately would hurt him later on. All the Gs are then called into the Chapter Room to be introduced to Bentley. Each is presented with a navy blue blazer which they must wear to all chapter meetings. After each G gets their blazers Bentley informs them that at elimination they will get a ‘Black Ball’ to cast a vote against another pledge.

They are dismissed to dinner where Cee is already making alliances with other G’s to insure they won’t Black Ball him during elimination. This could hurt or help him as the eliminations go on. But don’t worry Cee, The Truth is making a scene and painting a target on his back. As well as Pretty Ricky who decided the wall was his bathroom. Hilarious.

Soon each G will sit down for a first impression in front of Bentley. You didn’t see the full conversations but at this point I started to be like wow some of these guys actually want to change. You began to feel sorry for them and wanted to be like, you can change you just have to believe it. I wonder if the guys really want to change and make a better life for themselves or will they “act” like they can change just to get the money and stay in the game.

Eliminations come up and surprise surprise, Pretty Ricky and The Truth have the most balls in their boxes, along with E6 and Creepa. First to go home is Pretty Ricky and can you blame Bentley for denying him his membership? He was hilarious and didn’t care, didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, it was great entertainment. Then he sent Creepa back, who genuinely seemed to want to be there and I’m glad he is getting another chance. But with going off about getting a vote earlier in elimination, I wonder if this will put a target on him for his temper. It’s down to the two, The Truth and E6, for the entertainment aspect of the show and to create drama within the house it would have been great to see E6 leave. However it was The Truth to exit The Gentlemen’s Club tonight. I never understood what he was saying and he ran his mouth the whole time. It was definitely his time to leave.

Twelve G’s remain and they all get a bed within The Gentlemen’s Club. With the show reminding me of VH1’s Charm School, I’m sure it will live up to the drama and chaos that the girls showed on that show. I’m excited to see how each of them changes over time or will they put up a front to just convince they are changing. After one show I have my favorite, T-Jones. I think he has what it takes. But we’ll see as the season continues and the other G’s get more time my pledge might change.

I’m ready bring on the drama, the fights, the tears and the bonding as From G’s to Gents continues Tuesday nights at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.
