What to Watch on TV – week of September 7-13

You might be down and out that school has started but look on the upside, Fall TV is also getting started. How can you not be looking forward to the drama with MTV’s The Island or the series premiere of Do Not Disturb?

Here is what you should be DVRing this week on TV:

MTV VMA awards, Sunday September 7 at 9 pm ET. Britney’s back, yes Britney Spears will once again grace the stage not performing but she will open the show. Performers include Lil Wayne, Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock, Rihanna, Paramore, Pink and more. Stay tuned to see who walks away with the Moon Man and those fashion dos and donts.

Fringe, Tuesday September 9 at 9pm on FOX. From J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci the new series will blur the lines between the possible and the impossible.
The show is a cross between X-Files, Altered States and The Twilight Zone as a FBI special agent is called in to investigate an international flight that lands at Boston’s Logan Airport.

Privileged, Tuesday September 9 at 9pm on CW. Based on the novel, How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls. A recent Yale graduate is looking to make the break into journalism when that doesn’t pan out she finds a job as a live in tutor to the two granddaughters of cosmetic mogul Laurel Limogoes. She is thrown into a unfamiliar social scene all while dealing with her own issues and getting these sisters into college.

The Island, Wednesday September 10 at 10pm on MTV. How do I get so addicted to the Real World/Road Rules Challenges? I’ll tell you alliances, backstabbing, blindsiding and hookups. These shows are never short of drama and can you blame them? The prize this challenge is for a share of $300,000. This time around it’s not all luxury like in past challenges but real survival. There are no teams, no weekly challenges just pure survival of the fittest. Which 4 contestants will find the gold and conquer The Island.

Do Not Disturb, Wednesday September 10 at 9:30 on FOX. Do Not Disturb stars Nicey Nash (Clean House) and Jerry O’Connell. The show is about the inner workings at a formally in style New York City hotel seen through the eyes of its employees.
