Hook Filled With Freebass Frustration
The long discussed Freebass project will arrive next year - or else. Former New Order bassist Peter Hook says he's somewhat frustrated with the slow pace at which his project with The Smith's Andy Rourke and Primal Scream's Mani is coming together. He tells Billboard.com that the disc will be out next March, and that he's tired of discussing it. He just wants to give the music to the people and go out and play. Hook admits that his own thirst for deejaying, as well as the deejay side work by his other bandmates, has been a distraction. However, the group has Haven's Gary Briggs in line to sing vocals on a majority of the songs, while guest vocalists Billy Corgan, Liam Gallagher, Ian Brown, and Tim Burgess are in various states of completion on other tracks.
