Kellie Pickler Pleased With CD's Chart-Topping Debut
Kellie Pickler says she's thrilled that fans have embraced her latest release. The singer explains that she had a hand in everything that went into the project, noting that's one reason why she went the self-titled route in naming the disc.
"Kellie Pickler" is entering the Billboard country chart at number one, making the former "American Idol" finalist only the sixth country artist in the SoundScan era to have both their first and second CDs debut at the top. She calls the achievement "a great honor," and adds, quote, "when people are dealing with the high cost of gas, groceries and a terrible economy, the fact fans went out spent their hard earned dollars on my music means so much to me." Pickler is currently on the road supporting the CD, which includes the single "Don't You Know You're Beautiful." She has a show of her own in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday, and she'll open for Sugarland in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on Saturday. |
