Chris Cornell: Album Rocker
Chris Cornell still believes in the album as a whole. The musician says in his latest update that he's currently rehearsing with his band for an upcoming tour, in which he plans to present his "Scream" disc front to back live. Cornell says, quote, "At a time when everyone seems to want to consume one song at a time it seems crazy to try and bring an album that is the most album-oriented record I have made. Thus far it has been a huge challenge for the record biz to figure out how to present it." The singer says it makes him long for the days when people would go watch lasers at a planetarium linked to full albums from Pink Floyd or Rush. The vocalist adds, quote, "Punk music killed that, but I can't think of anything more punk rock than bringing a modern version of that back now during a time of sound bites and 20-second iTunes auditions." Cornell begins his album launch performance tour October 17th in Denver. |
