World Premiere of Conway Twitty Musical This Weekend
A musical based on the life of late country music legend Conway Twitty is set to make its world premiere in Nashville this weekend. "It's Only Make Believe. Conway Twitty: The Man, The Music, The Legend" is the late singer's story told through the eyes of his children. It chronicles his rise from humble beginnings to become a '50s rock idol and later country legend. Creator and director Randy Johnson says he listened to every recording Twitty ever made as well as almost every interview he ever gave to prepare for the project. He also spent countless hours with Twitty's children to come to know the musical icon. The debut performance of "It's Only Make Believe" is set for the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
