Patti LaBelle To Sing For A Cause
Patti LaBelle is among the artists on board for the 18th annual Divas Simply Singing benefit. Actress and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph is behind the event, which is an HIV/AIDS fundraiser. Others slated to perform include Angie Stone and Raven-Symone. For the show, each singer will take on a single tune, accompanied only by a grand piano. Sheryl Lee Ralph founded the Diva Foundation back in 1990 as a memorial to the loved ones she'd lost to AIDS. This year's event will take place Saturday at the Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles. On Friday LaBelle will be taking the stage in Phoenix, Arizona. She's the headliner for the opening night of the inaugural Festival in the Desert. Others on board for the three-day event include Smokey Robinson, Boz Scaggs, Dr. John, former Jefferson Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico, blues great Buddy Guy, and Pat Benatar.
