Ben Folds Seeks A Capella Aid
Ben Folds is interested in the many ways available to present his music. His latest idea depends on fans with solid voices forming an a capella group. Folds says he's planning to make an album filled with a capella versions of his music to be performed by the best university groups he can find. The singer says he came up with the idea after seeing several university groups already doing this and posting their clips on YouTube. Folds is open to a capella interpretations, and has launched www.benfolds.com/acapella where fans can get details on how to submit their performances. The deadline for entries is November 14th. A spring 2009 release is likely. Proceeds will go to a music education charity yet to be decided.
