Reba To Be Honored
Reba McEntire is this year's recipient of the ASCAP Golden Note Award. She'll be honored during an awards ceremony Monday at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium. ASCAP Senior Vice President Connie Bradley calls Reba "one of the greatest singers ever in country music." McEntire is a four-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year winner, and she's taken the prestigious CMA Entertainer of the Year trophy once. She's sold more than 55-million records and notched 31 number one hits. In addition to her musical success, the spunky Oklahoma native has also appeared in a hit Broadway production of "Annie Get Your Gun" and starred in the successful TV series "Reba." Past ASCAP Golden Note winners include Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Christian singer Michael W. Smith, while R&B legends Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones have also earned the award. Kenny Rogers was last year's recipient.
