The Rock Report
10/14/2008
Today in History
In 1975 Kiss released "Rock and Roll All Night." In 1980 AC/DC's albums "If You Want Blood You've Got It" and "Let There Be Rock" were certified Gold. In 1987 Night Rangers' album "The Big Life" was certified Gold. In 1996 The album "Best of Van Halen, Volume 1" was released in the UK. In 1997 David Bowie had to fill in for the Rolling Stones on the debut of MTV's "Live From The 10 Spot" because Mick Jagger had a sore throat. In 2003 Ozzy Osbourne announced that he was suffering from unexplained tremors, which had been getting progressively worse since 2001. However the medication for the condition caused temporary side effects that forced him to postpone his European tour. Singer Scott Weiland filed for divorce from his wife, Mary. They had been together for three years. Would-be concertgoers went on a rampage in Montreal, smashing windows and destroying cars, after the Exploited and Total Chaos cancelled a concert. The show was scrapped because some members of the Exploited were refused entry into Canada. In 2007 Linkin Park's Chester Bennington broke his arm in an on-stage fall four songs into the band's performance in Melbourne, Australia. But the singer still finished the show before seeking medical attention.<
