Country Stars Promote Voting
A number of country stars are taking steps to encourage women to vote. Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, and Taylor Swift are featured prominently in the "Vote (For Your) Country" campaign, urging women to participate in the political process by casting a ballot next month. "Redbook" magazine and Lifetime Television are behind the effort, which features the singers in public service announcements that will air through election day. Several other country stars also take part in the effort, including Clint Black, Jack Ingram, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Rodney Atkins, Sugarland, Wynonna, and Trisha Yearwood. But it's McEntire, McBride, and Swift who grace the cover of the new "Redbook" to launch the initiative. The magazine arrives on newsstands Tuesday. |
