Ex "Idol" Producer: Simon Cowell Makes Mountains Over Fellow Judges
For "American Idol" watchers wondering what kind of salary a celebrity judge makes, in Simon Cowell's case it's close to 22-thousand dollars a minute. That's according to "Idol's" former executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. According to E! Online, Lythgoe recently spilled the beans on Cowell's salary while speaking at the Australian Commercial Radio Conference on Friday. He says the British "Idol" judge earns around 36-million dollars a year from Fox alone. While Lythgoe says Cowell's fellow judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson earn a healthy seven-figure salary, he notes that theirs is nothing in comparison to Cowell's. The whopping salary isn't undeserved though, according to Lythgoe. He says Cowell is quite brilliant at handling business negotiations. He also gives Cowell props for being quite generous, adding that he's always the first to pick up the tab when they go out to dinner. |
