Coldplay Challenges Keys For AMA
Coldplay will be rock's biggest hope at the American Music Awards this year. The band earned four nominations, coming up just shy of Alicia Keys' show-leading five nods. The group faces The Eagles and Daughtry for Favorite Band, Duo Or Group in Pop Or Rock Music. Coldplay's "Viva La Vida..." disc is also nominated for Favorite Album in Pop Or Rock Music, facing competition from Keys and The Eagles. The group also earned a nod in the night's biggest category, Artist Of The Year, where they will square off against Keys, The Eagles, and Lil' Wayne. Their final nomination is for Favorite Artist in Alternative Rock Music, where Linkin Park and The Foo Fighters are also nominated. The other two rock acts to look for are Kid Rock, who earned a nomination for Favorite Male Artist in Pop Or Rock Music , and Paramore, who is up for the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award. Jimmy Kimmel hosts the November 23rd ceremony on ABC.
