Beck Finds Connection With Danger Mouse
Beck is reflecting on his "Modern Guilt" sessions with a sense of satisfaction.? The vocalist completed the album faster than he's done most in the past, but part of that was due to the comfort level he felt with producer Danger Mouse.? The singer tells the BBC that they had been long time friends and Danger Mouse initially called him to work on a track for a project he was doing.? That song never panned out, so Beck called back and asked to do a record.? The hectically busy producer initially declined, so they decided to do one track together.? Beck recalls, quote, "We did the first song on the album and then decided, 'Well, I think there's a whole record here.'? And a couple of months later we had a record.? It wasn't very premeditated.? It happened very casually."? "Modern Guilt" is in stores now. |
