Quick Bites
Taylor Swift is showing support for members of the military. She's signed on for a joint MTV-CNN special highlighting veterans' issues. The show will include performances from the country singer as well as a variety of rock and rap acts. Kid Rock, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, 50 Cent, and Ludacris are also on board. "A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the Brave" will air on MTV on October 24th. It'll be followed two days later with CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" focusing on the problems facing young vets returning home from combat.
Some Country Music Association Award winners have already been revealed. Last Friday Bucky Covington got to call the winners of the 2008 CMA Broadcast Awards, notifying the various stations and radio personalities nationwide of their accomplishment. Covington called it "really awesome to get to call them with the good news," noting that he's seen how hard the folks at country stations work and adding that he's grateful for the effort they give to their jobs.
