Fans React To Ringo's Mail Message
Ringo Starr hasn't endeared himself to many with his recent video message telling fans to stop sending him mail, and noting he won't honor any more requests for autographs. One response turning up on the "Daily Mail" website asks, quote, "Have you forgotten that it's the fans who put you where you are today?," while a reaction on the Skynews site notes, quote, "Ringo could've been a lot cooler about it than this. He comes off as a grumpy old man." A post on the "Los Angeles Times" site reads, quote, "Shame on you Ringo. Did you have to tell people to stop, couldn't you have just stopped signing and let it go at that. I will never think off you kindly again." But not everyone is upset at Starr's ultimatum. Another "L.A. Times" post says, quote, "He deserves a break from all the years of responding. This what he wants...ok. He deserves a bit-o-peace and love."
The former Beatle claimed he has to put a stop to the fan mail because he has, quote, "too much to do." He gave those who still wish to send him something a deadline of October 20th, adding that anything arriving after that date will "be tossed." |
