Coldplay Not Shy About "Prospekt's March"
Coldplay singer Chris Martin says the band was a little shy about putting out several tracks that will now make up the "Prospekt's March" EP. The vocalist says in a Q&A posted at the band's website that the new material was always part of the plan, but there was a reason they didn't make "Viva La Vida." He explains that tracks like "Glass Of Water," which is a little heavier, didn't necessarily fit the vibe of the rest of the record, so the group had the idea that if the album did well, they would package the remaining tracks into a separate release. The leftover tracks fall somewhat outside the Coldplay norm, and even after they were finished Martin says he enjoyed a chance to experiment with them. For instance, he he notes that he loves the remix of "Lovers In Japan" and is thrilled to add pal Jay-Z to a new version of "Lost."
