The Faces To Begin Reunion Rehearsals Today
The Faces are expected to hold their first rehearsal today as the band moves one step closer to a reunion. But while initial reports said frontman Rod Stewart would be joining guitarist Ron Wood, keyboardist Ian McLagan, and drummer Kenney Jones in the studio Monday to see how they feel about working together again, the singer seems to be very optimistic about the prospect. He tells the UK's "Daily Mirror" they're anticipating being ready to go public with The Faces once again next summer. His touring bassist is expected to join them to round out the band, as The Faces original bass player, Ronnie Lane, died in 1997. Stewart adds that while Wood is in the midst of a divorce, the guitarist is "up" for the reunion, describing him as "full of energy and very excited." The Faces broke up in 1975, with Stewart launching a solo career and Wood joining the Rolling Stones. Over the years there have been several one-off near-reunions, but the band's surviving members hadn't ever officially reteamed before. |
